to Provide Info, Receive Input
PATH held 24 public open houses in communities within the study area in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. More than 2,500 people attended the open house meetings, where they had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with PATH representatives on a variety of topics, including the overall project, transmission line routing and engineering, property owner outreach and energy conservation. Maps of the alternate routes were displayed at the meetings, as well on the project website, for public comment.
Those attending the open houses could fill out surveys designed to help identify siting issues. They were used to help develop a proposed route for the project.
In addition to completing surveys at the meetings, individuals could submit comments via email or by calling the PATH hotline at 1-888-678-7270. Nearly 3,000 public comments were received and evaluated by project staff.
Those attending the open house meetings could view maps of the alternate routes, as well as talk to PATH representatives about siting, property owner outreach, engineering and other issues.
