PATH Allegheny Hosts Info Meetings in Maryland

PATH Allegheny recently hosted meetings in Frederick and Boonsboro, Md., to provide information and receive public input on the proposed transmission project. More than 140 people attended the June 17-18 meetings.

At the meetings, attendees had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with PATH Allegheny representatives on a variety of topics, including the overall project, transmission line routing and engineering, and energy conservation. While specific route alternatives were not yet available for the meetings, many attendees filled out surveys designed to help identify siting issues. Their input will be used in developing proposed routes for the PATH Allegheny lines.

“Allegheny is doing a good job of consulting with the public and getting community input early on,” Rich Miranto told the Frederick (Md.) News-Post. He is a member of the Citizens for the Preservation of Middletown Valley.

A series of public open houses are scheduled for late July in West Virginia and early August in Maryland. Dates and sites have yet to be determined.
